Exposing People To A
Different Perspective

Sparking Conversations That Ignite Introspection and Diversity In Thought

Growing up on the south side of Chicago, the closest thing to success I’d ever seen was signified by the cars, jewels, and clothes the drug dealers in my neighborhood often adorned. But by the time I made it to the Osan Air Force Base in South Korea during my Tour of Duty in the USAF, it was the constant exposure to different people and places that propelled me to shift my perspectives and change my life for the better. It’s because of this shift that I eagerly welcome opportunities of collaboration with diversified audiences, including corporations, brands, organizations, and schools. I share my experiences and insights in the hopes of enlightening the listeners who need it most.

Collaboration is what’s allowed ARLO to become the 8th fastest-growing Veteran Owned Company in the nation. As I speak, audiences are able to see that I have the receipts to match the advice I give. I don’t do what I do for practice. Let my stories of resilience, hustle, and a win-win mentality show you what I mean.

Arlo Solutions (Arlo) has been named to annual Vet100 list—a compilation of the nation’s fastest growing veteran-owned businesses. The ranking, created in partnership with Inc. magazine and Syracuse University’s Institute for Veterans and Military Families (IVMF), was born out of the iconic Inc. 5000 list of the fastest-growing private companies based in the U.S. Both distinctions are considered hallmarks of entrepreneurial success. Originally established as the Vet50 list, the list was expanded in 2020 to include 100 veteran-owned businesses in acknowledgement of the growing culture and success of veteran entrepreneurs.

My Signature Speaking Topics

SPEAKING TOPIC

Developing a Sustainable Cybersecurity Workforce

Every company and technology type has to have someone and something there to protect it. On that note, cybersecurity is booming. From a workforce perspective, for every two jobs available there’s more than likely only one qualified individual to fill them. And chances are, that one person is already employed. From a digital infrastructure perspective, the need for a developmentally sustainable cybersecurity workforce is dire. It’s not enough to hire people solely to fill gaps, but being complacent and accepting the lack of diverse innovative perspectives is equally unhelpful. Join the conversation as I speak from over 20 years of experience in the field to school motivated listeners in the best ways to develop and maintain the cybersecurity workforce we’ll need in the near future.

Sculpting Castles From Crumbs: Attaining Marketable Skills & Honorable Wealth With Allyship

Allyship can be defined as a lifelong process of building relationships that are based on trust, consistency, and accountability. By being a strong ally — someone who was willing to go above and beyond in service of a greater shared purpose — I was able to escape poverty and become the CEO of a multi-million dollar company. Building alliances that get the job done is the concept that forms the basis of this talk, but it’s the discussion on becoming the kind of person that enables castles to be built from crumbs that will leave the most opportune mark on listeners for sure.

SPEAKING TOPIC

Getting Started in GovCon: The Basics of Becoming a U.S. Government Contractor

Each year, the U.S. Federal Government spends over $650 billion on products and services from its trusted suppliers, solidifying the entity as the single largest consumer in the world. In this talk, I give the rundown on the most basic barriers of entry for U.S. Government contracting so interested listeners can take what they’ve learned to procure their piece of this American pie in their strategies to optimize their business offerings. Veterans, recent college graduates, youth, and career-transitioning professionals will get the most out of what I share here, but anyone can tune in and gain a deeper understanding of what it takes to become a U.S. Government contractor.
